The following
picture came up on my screen saver, so I thought I would post it. It
is the Shore Temple at Mahabalipuram (Mamallapuram).
I stopped in
Mahabalipuram on the way to Pondicherry. It was way to short of a
stop. I spent a little over an hour there, the entire time I did not stop
walking, it was one fast paced tour that missed much of the wonder of this
little town. The next morning in Pondicherry, a Swiss couple staying
at the hotel said they had spent a week in Mahabalipuram and wished they had
more time.
I will add one more
picture that is just amazing. The elephant in this carving is over a
thousand years old and is over 20 (7 meters) tall. Very
impressive.
